How about this fun little story?! I met Alison when I photographed her sister’s wedding this past summer. I jokingly had said to Kelby, her boyfriend at the time, that he should put a ring on her finger so he’d officially be a part of all family photos moving forward! And lo and behold, they are now engaged and I have the joy of getting to photograph their wedding as well! I love when I get to document sibling’s weddings as it feels like I become a small part of the family.

These two have known each other much of their lives as Kelby’s little sister was one of Alison’s best friends throughout high school. However, Alison and Kelby didn’t start dating until after college! I had asked Alison if she was always secretly crushing on her friend’s older brother all throughout high school but she simply said, he just wasn’t around much as he was off with his own friends. Surely, now Kelby’s sister is overjoyed that Alison’s friend status will now get upgrade to a sister status!

Can we also just talk about how gorgeous winter engagement sessions can be?!? They are SOO fun and beautiful! I LOVE getting to be a photographer in Minnesota as I get to capture all the seasons of the year as well as sweet seasons of my client’s lives in my work. The variety that it brings to photos is something I will never take for granted. Give me the cooler temps, the white blanket of snow and a couple in love any winter day and I’m so giddy to create with that combination!!
